How HRD Corp claims work
Five steps from intention to reimbursement.
The process is consistent across schemes and across courses. Once you have done it once, the next one takes half the time.
Choose an HRD Corp-registered course
Pick training that is already registered under an HRD Corp scheme so a claim is possible from the start.

Employer acts1–3 days to decidePick training that is already registered under an HRD Corp scheme so a claim is possible from the start.

Submit a grant application via eTRiS
Employer acts30–60 minutes to fileApply for the relevant scheme through HRD Corp’s eTRiS portal before the training starts.
- Log in to the eTRiS portal at hrdcorp.gov.my
- Select the scheme that fits — SBL or SBL-Khas are the most common for AI training
- Upload the course outline, quotation, and trainer profile (your training provider will supply these)

HRD Corp reviews and approves
HRD Corp acts5–10 working daysHRD Corp reviews the application against scheme eligibility and issues an approval letter.
- Most straightforward AI training applications are approved within a few working days
- You receive a Letter of Approval (LoA) — keep this for the claim later
- If anything is missing, HRD Corp will request supplementary documents

Run the training
Training Provider actsAs scheduled (1 day to 12 weeks)Your team attends the training. Attendance and completion are recorded for the claim file.
- Attendance records and signed forms are maintained by the training provider
- For digital training, evidence of completion (logs, certificates) is captured automatically
- Any change to dates or attendees should be flagged early — material changes may require re-approval

Submit the reimbursement claim
Employer acts2–6 weeks to reimburseSubmit the claim through eTRiS with supporting documents. HRD Corp reimburses against your levy balance.
- Attach the invoice, attendance records, completion certificates, and proof of payment
- Claims are typically processed within a few weeks of submission
- Reimbursement is credited against your levy balance with HRD Corp
